Topical Uses

When applied to the skin in very low dilutions (0.5% or less), Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil supports the body’s healthy response to inflammation and promotes a healthy, clear complexion. Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil also acts as a safe, natural mosquito repellant.

To create a dilution suitable for external use, add 4 drops of Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil to an ounce of your favorite massage oil. Cold-pressed Grapeseed oil and Almond oil are good choices. Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil can also be mixed, in similar proportions, with face cream or skin moisturizers.

When diffused, Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil purifies and cleanses the air, supporting the respiratory, nervous and digestive systems while protecting the body from environmental toxins. Humans are intimately interconnected with and inspired by the aromas of plants. Imagine your favorite culinary aromas drifting towards you, preparing your body for a delicious meal simply through the volatile aromas.

Diffusing Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil in your home or office can provide uplifting, clarifying and air purifying benefits. The aroma of Tulsi can help invigorate your senses, clarify your mind, uplift and balance your emotions and even kill air born challenges such as bacteria, molds and viruses. Simply utilize the benefits of your favorite aromatherapy diffuser in your home or office by adding a few drops of Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil and or other essential oils to create your own harmonizing and room purifying blend.

Favorite blend for home and office for clear mind, lungs and general wellbeing:

  • 3 drops Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil
  • 3 drops organic Lemon essential oil
  • 1 drop Rose Geranium essential oil

For Lung Health

To support lung health, simply apply a few drops of diluted Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil to your palms, briskly rub them together and hold your palms to your face while gently inhaling.
Another method is to add a few drops of undiluted Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil to a pot of hot water and carefully breathe in the steam with your eyes closed. Eucalyptus or Pine oil can also be added.

Additionally, a compress can be made by mixing 1 part diluted Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil with 3 parts warmed castor oil, and applied to the throat. Lavender or Tea Tree Oil can be added as well.

One of the best methods to address the lungs is to apply Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil where the skin is the thinnest such as on the soles of the feet in the “solar plexus” area of the foot. Apply 3-5 drops of Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil diluted in 1 oz carrier oil and massage well into each foot.

There are an endless number of uses for Tulsi Oil. Some other ideas are:

  • Use in most aromatherapy diffusers to purify a room or entire house
  • Add a drop or two to your washing machine as it fills to scent clothes
  • Add a few drops to the bottom of the steam mop cloth
  • Place a couple drops on your favorite wooden mala
  • Let us know what your favorite use is!

Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil must be diluted before applying to skin. We recommend diluting Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil with organic olive oil, sweet almond oil or grapeseed oil, 4 drops per ounce. We do not recommend ingesting Tulsi-Holy Basil Essential Oil. Topical applications and inhalation therapy is contraindicated for those with asthma and epilepsy. Do not use topically or with inhalation therapy unless directed by a qualified herbalist, aromatherapist or primary health care provider if you are pregnant, lactating or with children under 12.
